An Update on ME

Some folks who follow my blog know I have had some health issues and here's an update.
I am still having pain & low grade temp-I am dealing better with it.........but, surgery is in order.
I am having a hysterectomy (abdominal) on November 3rd. It hit me for the first time yesterday, really hard. I am afraid of complications, etc..........I am overall VERY healthy so I am sure it will be just fine, and I am sure its part of human nature to be afraid.
I have been tired of just sitting around being in pain and on pain meds so the past couple weeks I have made a pact with myself to do SOMETHING creative. I don't care HOW bad I feel later, its been so good for my soul. Its been so nice to, at the end of the day, say "I did this and that" rather than just laying around all day.

Wow Kristy! I am so sorry I didn't realize. I wish I was closer and I'd bring you a meal, or hang out with your cool kiddos. I will keep you in my prayers for sure. Let me know how you're doing. Take Care.

Surgery is always nervewracking, and yes, it's human nature to feel uneasy. Your determination to carve creative time for yourself despite your mood is brilliant and inspiring, I must say.

Take good care.

Kristy, I'm so glad you gave us an update. I'm sure I would be extremely nervous if I was facing surgery... just keeping trusting it will be ok. I've been so glad to see all the art you've been making.. I'm proud of you for pushing through.

Kristy,

If you'd like, email me and I'll get information for some of the support groups my sister thought were great after her hysterectomy.

They call each other "Hyster-sisters"

Thanks for the update. I've been wondering about you this week. Surgery is always scary, but just focus on how overall healthy you are. Nerves are a part of human nature -- you are right.

KUDOs to you for carving out some creative time and energy. I often create when I'm feeling poorly because it distracts me.

Let me know if you need anything!

I have had the same surgery and I felt scared too.

But after a few days you start to feel better and if you walk a little each day - eat healthily - be positive - within six weeks you will be fitter than you ever were before.

A friend of mine had her op a 5 weeks ago- she was great after the first week - although a bit sore and tired - but totally back to normal at 4 - 5 weeks - even started back at the gym!
