Revisiting old art pieces..........plus exciting news

 I was thinking about some of my older pieces last night. I was thinking of what my favorite past art pieces have been. So I thought I would revisit them and share them! I am sure there are more favorites, but have just been thinking of these recently :)

And for some exciting news.........

 I am going to be having my stuff in a gallery in South Dakota soon! Gotta get to work............

This one feels done to me.........so I am gonna stop right here :)
Its hard to get a really good photo of it-there are so many little details.

I'm getting all set for a juried art show that is in my area every year-its for works smaller than 14" (I think). Anyway!  I am really into doing assemblage right now, so chances are thats what I will be entering (we can enter up to 3 pieces). This one has been SO fun to do-just a little more to do and it will be finished. My husband says its a little "bizarre" but I beg to differ on that!  Its FUN. Oh well, he is not into art anyway :)

Letting go of fear..............till I'm blue in the face

Thats the name of this, because that is exactly what went through my mind as I painted away at this. I have never painted so fast in my LIFE!!!  Being I have been doing silly drawings,  it has really freed me up to be more relaxed and just go with the flow.  I wanted this lady to have a blue face. The more I realized it, the more I realized that is what exactly was going on in my mind. And I LIKE the blue face.

This is a 12x16 canvas board.

Assemblage is done.............

It FEELS done to me, so calling this one complete!  Now just to name it......might have to think about it a few days! Have already began the next project !

Picasso Dogs

It was fun to start out the week with a very relaxed , fun exercise out of Carla Sonheim's book "Drawing Lab" called Picasso Dogs. It got to be addicting! I did a whole bunch and I am just sharing a few.

Playing around in my moleskine

So my husband and son decide to take off for a little bit, and my daughter occupied on her game, I decided to get my new Watercolor Moleskine out to play. I grabbed a back issue of Smithsonian and found a picture of these whooping cranes and drew it out and painted it.  I didn't have any creative playtime at all yesterday-I broke my cycle  :( So today I HAD to do something, even though I didn't really have much time!

Been Playin' allllllll day

Well, most of the day anyway! I did some other Citrasolv Papers the other day and put them to use today!  I normally do NOT do any kind of landscapes........but these papers are SO perfect for this!
Once I paired it with some other items it sort of became an assemblage of sorts-and I love how this turned out :)

Plugging Away........

on this assemblage, that is!  I got sick last week and was out of commission a few days-simply had no energy to work on anything art related.  But now the creative juices are running wild so I am back to work. Its in a drying stage at right now, and once its dried its back to work to add a little more :)
