I know this has nothing to do with stamping or art or anything, but alot of you know about my Gillian and her struggles since she was born. I had a VERY proud moment today! One of my goals with her this summer has been to work with her at writing her own name.
I have been working with her one letter at a time-well today she DID IT!!!!! I cannot say how thrilled I am :)
woohooooooooooooo!
At her preschool they told me not to worry about working with her on this stuff-they told me they would do that in kindergarten. I don't accept that! I want to help her in any way I possibly can. So each and every day I work with her on a certain letter. She identifies letters well-writing is different and more of a struggle. I made this laminated piece of cardstock with her name so she can trace, and it also has space to write it herself.
I am SO excited.

oh that is awsome! congrats!
Kristy, that is downright awesome. Congratulations to Gillian...give her a hug and tell her I am so proud of her. Also, give yourself a hug and I am so proud of you too!!!
That is so fantastic! I was grateful later in life that my mom taught me to write the alphabet, numbers and important info before I went to school. I think it will make life easier for her when she does go to kindergarten. :)
Fantastic. I can't imagine how good she must feel when she sees her name on paper and that she created it. Think self, think how we feel when we look at the art we create. Hugs to you both.
I can't help thinking of all the fantastic things you've seen put to paper or created yourself that none must have touched your heart as much as this. Totally awesome.
Congrats to Gillian and to you for reaching such a wonderful goal. Having a child with challenges is so hard but the rewards are immense! My oldest son is challenges and he's fought for everything he is today, as have we. I can't tell you how incredible it is when we look at him now and see how he's beat every prognosis the Drs gave him.
With your help Gillian will do wondrous things!
You are right to be a proud mummy. Great work both of you. xx
